In Samastipur, Bihar, a student, troubled by the unrequited love of her crazy lover, committed suicide by consuming poison. The matter is of Chandharpur village of Kalyanpur police station of the district. The deceased student has been identified as Roopa Kumari (15), daughter of villager Hiralal Paswan. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and seized the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Here, on receiving information that the student had consumed poison, the said lover also reached the student’s house. Where the villagers caught him and handed him over to the police.
Sukhlal Paswan, grandfather of the deceased student, told that his son lives abroad. Granddaughter Rupa lived with her mother. Roopa went to Partapur High School to study in class 10th. Where a young man named Raja Sah of Partapur village used to harass him a lot while walking. Rupa kept coming home regularly and telling the family members about it. Panchayat was also held several times regarding the matter. But the boy was not desisting from his actions. He told that fed up with the boy’s actions, the family members thought of getting Roopa married. The boy was also seen regarding marriage. Fruit donation was also done, after which the said (accused) boy started harassing Rupa and the family members in many ways. He had some photograph of Rupa, with which he started blackmailing her. Troubled by this, his granddaughter committed suicide by consuming poison.
Fed up with the young man’s harassment, Rupa committed suicide by consuming poison. When the said young man (Raja Sah) came to know about this information, he reached the girl’s house. After that the people of the village caught the said young man. During this time the people of the village informed the police. After that the said youth was handed over to the police who reached the spot.
Sadar DSP-2 Vijay Kumar Mahato told that the student, troubled by unrequited love, had committed suicide. Police seized the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. He said that during this time the villagers caught the young man who reached the house of the deceased and handed him over to the police. The arrested youth is being interrogated. The girl’s family has not yet given a written application. An FIR will be registered on receipt of the application.
